Artvark is invited to play @ the CAÏRO JAZZ FESTIVAL, held in March. The very first time for Artvark in Egypt! We are excited to hear and meet some talented bands and musicians from Egypt and of course are curious about the reactions to our music. Apart from concerts, we also will do some workshops.
Artvark will play live @ the Dutch TV show 'Opium TV'. This AVRO show will be broadcasted on the Dutch station Ned 2, Saturday night the 4th of February at 10.35 pm.

We are very happy with the results of the recordings we made in our 'home'-studio Fattoria Musica in Osnabrück Germany. Situated in an old farmhouse, the studio provides beautiful sound and the peace and quiet to focus on the project totally. The music is very versatile and for us a true landmark in the Artvark history. This is our 4th album after 'Artvark, the Jazz Saxophone Quartet' (2005), 'busy, busy, busy' (2009 with New Niks) and 'Truffles' (2010).

Artvark with Claron McFadden was invited to be the surprise closing act of the last TEDx meeting the 25th of November in Amsterdam. TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) is a world wide phenomenon, where people are invited to speach or perform max. 18 min to share a thought, a proposition or an inspiration.

The 10th of Feb Artvark will play @ the Dutch Days in club Jazzstation. This club is situated in a beautiful old former train station in the north of Bruxelles (B). During 3 days (9-11 Feb), several Dutch jazz bands will hit the stage.
Mete Erker, Artvark's tenor sax player, has recently released the album 'ROUTE PLANNER'. This album is a co-production with keyboard player and master of electronics Michel Banabila. Check Mete's site!
Artvark's alto sax player Bart Wirtz has released an album called 'I DREAMER', recorded in New York. The American line-up features the fantastic trumpet player Nicholas Payton. Bart will tour to promote this album in April.
January the 8th mete Erker, our tenor saxophone player, was a guest at the Dutch Radio 6 show Co Live! He talked about his career, about Artvark and of course about 'Sly Meets Callas'. Thursday evening the 12th VPROJazzLive broadcasted the recordings of the première concert of 'SMC' from August 2011 @ the Grachtenfestival in Amsterdam.
